Abstract

Hydro economic "Analysis provides a quantitative and systemic framework for evaluating how hydrologic, engineering, environmental, and economic activities interact in water resources systems, which may help IWRM professionals in their training (Harou et al., 2009). A common currency is used to reflect competition amongst water users. This allows us to compare the advantages and disadvantages of various water-use strategies by breaking down complex management problems into more manageable single-objective ones (Harou et al., 2009). Water management problems have been solved with the aid of hydro economic modelling "across numerous spatial scales, from local to regional to national to international."
